My Beauty Regimen for Naturally Beautiful Skin
Basilisa Soap: Rice Flower and Shea |
It has taken me a while to find what works for me. Several things didn't even qualify because of hazardous ingredients. So I searched through blogs, web articles, youtube reviews and the like, until I discovered a solution. It was a beauty BREAKTHROUGH! Interested in my line up a' naturelle? Well here you go :)
1. Pineapple Enzyme Scrub by Alba (they have this at Walmart! WHOA!)
2. Basilisa Soap Bar - preferably in Oatmeal Honey, Topaz or White Tea Ginger
3. Rosewater by Heritage (pink bottle w/ glycerin is ok)
***Extras: Green Tea, Orange Blossom Water, Honey, Avocado,
Olive oil, C€ and E Repair***
I use the face scrub every day. Right out of the tube it looks creamy but thins out when I apply it to my face. The exfoliant in this scrub is very fine. Sometimes I feel as if I am hardly doing anything. (But if I skip this step, I NOTICE!) Next I use the soap which has so many wonderful essential oils and is very nourishing to my skin. I think the oils dissolve the dirt in my pores and just over all help get rid of anything that may still be on my face from the night before. (I fell in love with Basilisa soap during pregnancy because it is all natural and moisturizing.) They smell so good and I always feel like I'm washing with a little cake! SO YUMMY! And SO CREAMY! Thank goodness for me Basilisa is local but she is also on Etsy.com.
The next step is to use some type of toner. My signature toner these days is rosewater. I learned that it is an ancient beauty secret in many countries, especially Middle Eastern countries. It is said to have many beautifying properties. One outstanding characteristic is that it has the natural ability to shrink pores and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. I have also read and experienced personally, that is fantastic for your hair. When I first started purchasing it from Rainbow Blossom, I would carry the spray bottle in my purse and whenever I needed to freshen-up, I could just spritz some in the air overhead and then even spray my face which feels so nice and gives your skin a great glow! I have also found that it balances out the natural oils on my face. Now then, since I love rosewater so much, I run out fairly quickly (seems that way) and I cannot always get my hands on a new bottle. Orange Blossom water has sufficed because of its similarities and even Green Tea in a pinch, which also can help with eye puffiness.
Of course everyone knows it is important to choose a very good moisturizer. Sometimes I may use a little of Basilisa's lotion, but my favorite is good ole olive oil. We've been taught that oils are bad, but this is the furthest from being true. Most cleansers strip our skin of its natural oils anyway, which leaves it vulnerable to clogged pores and blemishes. After using my toner, I dab some olive oil on my face with a cotton ball. Sometimes I rub it in with my fingers and sometimes I just let it soak in by itself. I also use olive oil to remove stubborn eye makeup. It's cheaper girls, I know you know that ;)
As for the rest of those extras above, the honey and avocado make great organic masks! You can also simply wash your face with honey. Honestly! Google it! Its so sweet! The last item on the list is the C and E. And it is literally like applying liquid silk to your face! I don't use this on a regular basis, but have every intention of adding it to my natural skin care regimen. I love the thought of giving vitamins to my skin. The C and E is part of Shaklee's Enfuselle line. Since it is for night time repair, I would fit it in after using my toner before bed and probably :skip: the olive oil, of course ;) C and E is also great for burns and cuts!
